Located in the Tabanan regency, this sacred temple seems to rise up from the ocean, quite a distance from the shore. Tanah Lot is probably the most iconic temple in all of Bali, and chances are you’ve seen it on either a postcard or in a magazine or other travel medium. It’s a breathtaking temple, especially when viewed during sunset, which makes it all the more magical.
Located along the shore of Lake Bratan, Ulun Danu Temple is dedicated to the worship of the Goddess of lakes and rivers, Dewi Batarai Ulun Danu. The location from which it’s built makes it seem like the temple floats on its own, off the mainland, and into the lake.
The Temple of Uluwatu is quite notably another famous temple renowned for its nightly Kecak Dance, performed as the sun sets. It’s located on the south western-most tip of Bali, and is revered as one of the cardinal temples that safeguards the island from evil spirits. Click here for more info of Uluwatu!
